I have a difficult time in social settings— I can only do it for very short periods. But in addition to that, I tend to take on the moods and feelings of those around me, especially if they’re negative. Most of the time it’s completely overwhelming. So, I’ve learned (and continue to learn) the importance of protecting my energy. For me, it’s defined as spending lots of time alone. It gives me a chance to decompress, think through my day and work through any negative sentiments to figure out if they’re actually my own. If they are, I can address them and work toward processing them. If they’re not, I can work toward letting them go. Being alone helps me learn about myself to figure out any physical or emotional needs I may have. For me, time alone is sacred and necessary— I enjoy my own company the most. 💕🌿🌺 What are some ways you protect your energy?
