Listen to Your Body

In the last two weeks, I’ve had multiple back-to-back panic attacks. In the last 5-6 days, my fainting spells and migraines returned as well. Every single autoimmune/chronic illness flare-up is different, but this combination of symptoms is especially concerning. My body is asking for help and telling me what it needs. It’s telling me that I need to take a mental and physical break from my surroundings and focus on resting both my body and my mind— by any means necessary. It’s not negotiable, and I need to listen. For us, it’s especially important to be in tune with and know your body. Spend time with yourself, focus inward and identify your needs. You already know yourself better than anyone. Despite everything it goes through and has gone through, my body keeps pushing and fighting. So instead of being frustrated and angry about my current symptoms, I need to nurture it and give it what it needs.
